Marissa Filderman, Ph.D.

Marissa J. Filderman, PhD is the lead external evaluator for the NCII. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education and Multiple Abilities at the University of Alabama and a consultant with the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk. She received her doctorate in special education at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on intensive reading interventions for students with or at risk for reading difficulties, as well as supporting teacher implementation of these interventions.
